All units in this qualification are internally assessed and subject to external standards verification.

The Level 3 course is based around 75% theory and 25% practical assessment, which will give students a more in-depth understanding of the theory within mechanical, electrical, electronic and manufacturing engineering. It also allows for basic practical experience in manual engineering techniques, which assists with the implementation of theoretical knowledge developed in the classroom.

Entry requirements for this course will be a minimum of grade 4 in four subjects, with grade 5+ in both Maths and English, dependant on interview.

Students are required to complete work placements during the course. This is done in collaboration with local engineering and manufacturing organisations.

The college has a partnership with a number of local engineering and manufacturing organisations, which include AkzoNobel, Tharsus, Suez and Clifton engineering.

This is a full-time course, consisting of three days per week (09:00 – 16:15). The course is based at ourAshingrton campus. Days of attendance to be confirmed.
