If you are interested in learning all aspects of the floristry industry, including practical floral designs as well as art and design and identifying flowers, then this course is for you!
You are required to have a good standard of general education and competence. Assessment of suitability is likely to be based on GCSE grades or equivalent. Mature students with relevant experience will also be considered.

Your progress will be assessed by a range of methods including practical assessments, observations, written assignments, and identification tests. Assessments are spread out and varied to allow your skills to develop. You will also sit an online multiple choice exam on the Art and design unit.
The course is run 1 full day per week over 1 academic year. Each lesson will consist of theory, group work, lots of discussion, as well as practical floristry.
If you are interested in learning all aspects of the floristry Industry, including practical floral designs as well as art and design and identifying flowers, then this course is for you.
This course includes both practical floristry and industry training. The units covered include Art and Design for florists which is practical in looking at colour and other design elements, identification, care and monitoring of fresh materials, hand tied bouquets and floral arrangements. You will create seasonal designs for Christmas, Valentine, Mother’s day and Easter.

After completing the course you could go on to do a second year of study to achieve Level 2 Diploma in Floristry.
