The course is set up over two days per week, with theory sessions and practical sessions.
The units you will cover include anatomy and physiology, eye treatments, waxing, head massage, nail art and spray tanning, as well as manicure, pedicure and facial.
Once you have trained in each area, you will be required to provide treatments within the commercial salon.
You will be required to have either 3 GCSE at grade 4 or above in any subject, 3 SQA National 5's in any subject, or a relevant Level 1 qualification.

Teaching and assessment methods include theory-based sessions, which are classroom taught. These sessions are tested through online examinations.
Practical sessions are delivered in our Graduate Salon, based on Marygate, Berwick upon Tweed and these are tested through practical assessment.
Assessments both in the classroom and in the salon are spaced throughout the academic year.
If you do not already hold a GCSE at grade 4 or above, or an SQA National 5 in Mathematics or English Language, you will be able to sit these with us. GCSE classes are taught over 2 days for the duration of the academic year.
You are required to secure a placement in a salon to meet the requirement of 60 hours throughout the duration of the course.
The aim of this beauty therapy course is to teach you the skills and knowledge to carry you into the beauty industry.
This course is made up of units such as manicures, pedicures and facials, as well as many more.

As you will be studying the practical elements in our Graduate Salon, you will be able to build your own client base, which, once qualified, you can take with you into industry so you really can hit the ground running.
You can progress into a Level 3 qualification in Beauty Therapy, where you will further your skills, knowledge and technical ability.
