This course is for anyone who is looking to build their confidence using English in everyday situations and gain a nationally recognised qualification.
Following on from your offer of a place on the adult Essential Skills English Entry Level 3 course, you will undertake an assessment in the first two weeks to ensure we can find the right course for you.
You don’t need to have any qualifications for this course. You will complete an assessment which will confirm your strengths and which areas need improving on.
This course is free of charge for anyone 19+ who does not already have this qualification or GCSE grade G/1 or above.

After developing your reading, writing and speaking and listening skills in the classroom, you will complete the following assessments:
- A speaking, listening and communication assessment with a teacher
- A paper-based writing assessment
- A paper-based reading assessment
