This qualification covers all the core skills you will need to progress to further learning and training, or to enter into employment within the hairdressing industry.

English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career.
If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/or English at school, we will support you to improve your skills and achieve this.
Structured work-experience is essential for this qualification.Practical training is ideal for gaining employment in the hairdressing industry.
Placements must be carried out outside of timetabled hours and it is your responsibility to ensure this is completed throughout the duration of the course.

This qualification is suitable for people who have no experience within the hair and beauty industry and are looking to accredit their skills and knowledge.
The course provides progression opportunities for those with intentions of progressing onto a Level 2 and Level 3 qualification within the hair and/or beauty sector.
You will study modules including:
- Introduction to the hair and beauty sector
- Presenting a professional image in a salon
- Shampooing
- The art of dressing hair
