All units are internally assessed. Assessment includes workplace practice to provide evidence for individual units, as well as the whole qualification through a portfolio of evidence.
Methods of assessment could include:
- Direct observation of learner by Assessor
- Witness evidence when directed by the sector skills assessment strategy
- Professional discussion
- Reflection on own practice in real work environments
- Written assignments
- Learner’s own work products
A minimum standard of maths, English and communication skills are required to undertake this level of study.
You will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement to be able to show competence in both knowledge and skills. An enhanced DBS clearance is an essential requirement of the course.
Part-time, 1 year. Sessions run weekly Tuesday 9.30am - 12.30pm.
This qualification will support adult learners to develop the knowledge and skills required to work in a range of clinical healthcare support settings and in adult care environments.
Units cover a wide range of areas including dementia awareness, mental health and well-being, supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and healthcare procedures.
