What’s it all about?

This qualification is for you if you are a 16-19 year old learner who wishes to work as a plumber in the building services industry.

It has been designed to deliver a high level of occupational skills and provide a platform from which to progress through to further learning or into employment.

This vocational route at Level 3 is a vital step towards becoming a competent plumber.

You will need 4 GCSE's at grade 4-9, including Maths and English. Or a relevant Level 2 qualification.

19+ please enquire You will be required to purchase your own stationery and may also be required to pay for potential trips and visits. You will be required to purchase uniform and/or Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) when studying this course. Information on this will be provided at enrolment.

Teaching and assessment will be classroom and workshop based.

English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career.

You are required to have achieved at least a grade 4 in English and Maths to enrol onto this course.

You will have the opportunity to take part in a local work placement of up to 130 hours to gain real industry experience.

We have a number of links to industry, including partnerships with plumbing companies to ensure you gain an outstanding learning experience with us and are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to progress to a career in industry.

Centres and providers work with local employers, who will contribute to the knowledge and delivery of training. Employers will provide demonstrations and talks on the industry and - where possible - work placements will also be provided by the employers. This practically based training is ideal preparation for gaining employment in the plumbing industry or specialist further study.

You will study for up to 18 hours per week in college and will also be expected to complete work experience and employment engagement.

This course will take place Monday-Friday between 9am-5pm. Timetables will be issued at the start of term.

This qualification will help you gain an understanding of the skills required within the plumbing sector.

You will study compulsory aspects, such as:

- Hot water
- Cold water
- Sanitation
- Central heating
