All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task. All units must be assessed in line with the Skills for Care and Development Assessment Principles.
English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your chosen career.
If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/or English at school, you will study this as part of your programme.
Students will need to be attend a practical placement to be able to show competence in both knowledge and skills.

This qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed when working in a lead adult care worker role in care settings. The programme is suitable for learners who wish to work in, or are working in, a lead role with adults in health and social care settings.
It covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health and social care procedures.
The Level 3 qualification meets requirements to confirm occupational competence and/or 'licence to practice' and confirm competence in an occupational role to the standards required.

Students can progress into employment in residential or nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centres or some clinical healthcare settings within job roles such as a Senior Care Support Worker or a Lead Personal Assistant.
