Skills Bootcamps are FREE*, flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, allowing you to build up sector-specific skills and fast-track to an interview with a local employer or progress in your current role as part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee.

Hospitality and Catering Principles (Newcastle College)

Who is the Skills Bootcamp for? 

This Skills Bootcamp is designed for individuals looking to retrain into a skilled profession and for unemployed individuals looking to work in the hospitality sector.

What will the Skills Bootcamp cover? 

This practical based Skills Bootcamp will prepare you for a role within the hospitality industry and present you with recognised vendor qualifications, making you job ready to move directly into one of the many chef job vacancies currently advertised in the region.

You will gain exposure to a range of key industry representatives through guest speakers and visit employment locations. You will develop knowledge skills and behaviours through the completion of topics such as; health, safety and first aid; food safety and allergens; food preparation; cooking and finishing of meat, poultry, fish and hot/cold sauces.

How long will the course last?

The Skills Bootcamp will start on 25th of September 2023 and will last for 12 weeks (60 hours in total)

SEND Leadership and Management in the Early Years (Northumberland College)

Who is the Skills Bootcamp for? 

This Skills Bootcamp is designed for those individuals who are already working as an Early Years practitioner in a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) or Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) related role and who wish to progress to leadership and management roles and responsibilities.

What will the Skills Bootcamp cover? 

The Skills Bootcamp will be delivered using a blended delivery model by experienced staff, supporting learners to discuss and share best practices in supporting learners with SEND.

How long will the course last?

The Skills Bootcamp will start on 4th September, with another cohort starting on 16th of September 2023 between 4pm-6:30pm and will last for 16 weeks (80 hours in total).

Are you an employer?

If you wish to access a Skills Bootcamp to train your own existing employees as part of staff professional training. Employers can co-fund the training with a cash contribution of 30% or more (reducing to 10% or more for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises).
