The course is for students who have achieved above average grades in their GCSEs particularly in Science, Maths and English and who have a dedicated interest in the care and welfare of animals.
Over the two years the course is equivalent to three A Levels.
You will need to have five GCSEs including, Maths and English and Science at Level 6/7 or above.

Your progress will be assessed by a range of stimulating methods including written assignments, practical assessments/observations and a written exam.

The course runs for 4 days per week over 1 year. However you will be expected to study and complete assignment work or work experience on your non college day. In the second year you will go on to complete the L3 Advanced Technical Extended Diploma in Ani

After completing the course you could study a Foundation Degree at Kirkley Hall or progress onto University to study BSc (Hons) in Zoology/Animal Behaviour/Conservation/Animal Science/Animal Management for example. Or alternatively find employment in animal management/welfare organisations or in research.
This qualification carries 24 to 84 UCAS points (depending on the grade achieved).
