The course is taught through a mixture of both theory and practical, including, but not limited to event planning, contingency planning, creating guidelines; evaluation planning, questions based on case studies, role-plays, presentations; team activities, preparing and comparing itineraries and creating handouts.
This qualification does not offer any formal placement however we do have excellent industry links should this be something you wish to look at.
Tourism businesses across the North East including Active Northumberland, The National Trust, Alnwick Garden and Castles plus numerous hotels and eateries.
This is a 20 week course with four hours per week required in college plus time spent studying at home.

This qualification is appropriate for all learners who have an interest in knowing how to organise an event as well as those who are planning to work in any job role, which may involve organising an event. It aims to provide you with a good understanding of the nature of the event industry, for business and leisure, as well as the practical skills and knowledge required to plan a successful event.
