A Level 2 qualification in floristry or equivalent is required, or 5 years industry experience.

Teaching is a mixture of practical workshops and classroom theory that will allow you to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding to be assessed through the following:

- Level 3 Principles of health and safety (multiple choice)
- Level 3 Floristry - theory exam
- Level 3 Floristry - synoptic assignment
- Recorded floristry work experience

Recorded floristry work experience

Delivery is either:

- Full-time for two days per week over one academic year
- Part-time one day per week over two academic years

Class times are 9am-4pm

You will study a range of topics that are compulsory. These will provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to progress within the floristry industry, learning about current and future design development and innovation in floristry.

You will study creative floral design methods and techniques, botany, and business and marketing skills, along with developing advanced skills in hand-tied designs, floral arrangements, funeral and sympathy designs, wedding and event work and trends within the industry.

Modules you will study include:

- Principles of the creative design process in floristry
- Plant and flower care
- Tied floral designs
- Floral designs in a medium
- Glued and wired floral designs
- Event floristry
- Business management and marketing in floristry

City and Guilds Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Floristry (540)
