What’s it all about?

A well-designed border can transform any outdoor space, providing colour, texture, structure, and year-round interest.

This practical four-hour course introduces the principles of border and planting design, helping adults with little or no gardening experience to create attractive, balanced planting schemes that suit their garden and lifestyle.

Learners will explore the key elements of successful border design, including plant shape, height, colour, texture, flowering season, and spacing.

The course also covers how to combine plants for continuous interest, create focal points, and choose plants that thrive together in UK growing conditions.
