This course is for those that are interested in working on light vehicles and gaining a qualification that could lead to an apprenticeship.
You will study units including mechanical and electrical systems and learn how to diagnose faulty components. Ideal if you would like to train for a career in the motor industry.
You should have two GCSEs at Grade 3 or above or a relevant Level 1 qualification.
|You will be required to purchase college branded Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as part of this course.
Your progress will be assessed by observations of your practical skills and will take place within the college workshops. Each unit of the qualification requires you to pass a multiple-choice online assessment test.
English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/ or English, we will support you to improve your skills.
There is a requirement to complete 35 hours of work experience related to the motor industry. Students are requested to seek their own placements at a dealership of their own choice.
The minimum attendance requirement is 95%.

This is a level two certificate course. however, students have the opportunity to upgrade to a diploma course which involves two more online exams above the minimum of the two to qualify for certificate level.

After completing this course, you could progress to an apprenticeship with an employer, or progress to a our Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3.
