Teaching and assessment methods include theory-based sessions, which are classroom taught. These sessions are tested through paper-based examinations.
Practical-based sessions are delivered in our trade workshops at our Ashington campus. These sessions are tested through practical assessment.
Assessments both in the classroom and in the workshops are spaced throughout the academic year.
Maths and English are an integral part of this course and are delivered within the curriculum timetable. These are essential skills needed to support students in both their chosen education and future employment.
The course is timetabled 9am-4pm and takes place Mon-Fri. Timetables are issued at the start of the course.
The course has 18 hours of classroom time per week.
The aim of this course is to provide you with a range of vocational trade skills to allow you to develop key skills and knowledge to support progression into future employment.
