There are no formal entry requirements, however, an interest in construction and basic literacy and mathematical skills are required.

Teaching and assessment methods include theory-based sessions, which are classroom taught. These sessions are tested through paper-based examinations.
Practical-based sessions are delivered in our trade workshops at our Ashington campus. These sessions are tested through practical assessment.
Assessments both in the classroom and in the workshops are spaced throughout the academic year.
You are required to have acheived a grade 4 or above in Math's and English on enrol on this course.
The course is timetabled 9am-4pm and takes place Mon-Fri. Timetables are issued at the start of the course.
The course has 18 hours of classroom time per week.
The aim of this course is to provide you with a taste of a number of trades so that you can choose which you enjoy most in order to develop your skills and knowledge at Level 2.
