English and Math's are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career.

If you do not have English or Math's at grade 4, you will complete these alongside your main qualification and these subjects will be built into your timetable.

Learners must complete 60 hours of work experience, ideally at an external work placement.

For those unable to get an external work placement, we can facilitate an internal work placement or link with those in industry to help you gain those important skills.

The equine department has an extensive range of industry links.

A placement with one of our industry partners can enhance both your CV and employment chances, which are linked to individual career plans.

Guest speakers and former students are invited into the college to offer advice and guidance on future careers.

The aim of the course is to develop skills and knowledge in the equine and land-based sector.

In order to complete the diploma, there are 2 mandatory and 5 optional modules to complete.

Mandatory units:
- Health and safety
- Work experience

Optional units:
- Assist with the movement, handling and accommodation of animals
- Assist with feeding and watering of animals
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of animal accommodation
