Taught using a mix of theory and practical methods, you will learn all the key health and safety issues, as well as learning to use the machine. This includes chipping and removing blockages.
This is an Integrated Training and Assessment (ITA) course and you will receive a certificate of training on successful completion of this course.
This is a short course – 1-day of training with integrated assessment.
City and Guilds
This course will take place between 9am-5pm. Days are dependent on booking availability.
This course covers:
- Risk assessment
- Relevant health and safey legislation
- Correct PPE
- Operator checks and safety features
- Routine operator maintenance
- Preparing machine for operation and safety checks
- Prepare work area and materials
- Use of approved techniques
- Procedure for removing blockages
- Correct disposal of woodchip
- Prepare machine for transport and storage
City and Guilds
Following this course, you will be able to safely operate a manually fed wood-chipper as part of your work in the agriculture or aboriculture sector.
