What’s it all about?

This course will help you improve your IT skills and creativity. The aim of this course is to provide an overarching skill set in the IT world, form IT systems to application programming.

You can gain the equivalent of 3 GCSE at grade 9-4 and then progress to a Level 3 coures in IT.

From Android applications, programming and the online world to website development and automated systems, you'll discover everything you need to know to start your journey into the world of IT.

You will sit 2 externally assessed exams on the online world and technology systems, and then submit internally assessed coursework, consisting of practical and theoretical elements.

You will nee either 2 GCSE's at grade 9-3, or a relevant Level 1 qualification to enrol on this course.

19+ please enquire All IT equipment will be provided by the department, but you can bring your own peripherals (keyboard & mouse) if you wish. We do ask you to bring a notepad and pen/pencil for the theory sessions.

Assessment is designed to fit the purpose and objective of the qualification and all units are internally assessed – giving learners the opportunity to demonstrate skills developed in applied scenarios. There is a range of assessment styles suited to skills- and sector-based qualifications at this level. All units are graded to encourage skills development and performance.

You will undertake between 30-70 hours of work placement as part of this course.

Monday - Friday 9am - 4:15pm, timetables are confirmed at the start of term.

The aim for this course is to build upon the foundation knowledge of IT so that students are able to design and develop various products within the IT world. By completing this course you will be able to gain access to studying level 3 IT.

What’s next?

After completing your Level 2 course, you will then have the opportunity to progress onto the T Level Digital Production course, which is a Level 3 and involves a mix of classroom learning and industry placement.
