What’s it all about?

This course is for someone who is wants to improve their IT and Creativity skills. The aim of this course is to gove an overarching skill set in the IT world form IT systems to application programming. This course allows you to gain 5 GCSE Grade 9-4 equivalents and then progression to the Level 3 Extended Certificate in IT.

The course introduces IT systems, Andriod application, programming, online world, website development and automated systems. The assessments include 2 externally assessed exams on online world & technology systems and then internally assessed peices of coursework which consists of practicals and theory elements.

You will need 2 GCSE's at grade 3-9. Or a relevant Level 2 qualification.

19+ please enquire All IT equipment will be provided by the department, but you can bring your own peripherals (keyboard & mouse) if you wish. We do ask you to bring a notepad and pen/pencil for the theory sessions.

Assessment is designed to fit the purpose and objective of the qualification and all units are internally assessed – giving learners the opportunity to demonstrate skills developed in applied scenarios. There is a range of assessment styles suited to skills- and sector-based qualifications at this level. All units are graded to encourage skills development and performance.

Monday - Friday 9am - 4:15pm, timetables are confirmed at the start of term.

The aim for this course is to build upon the foundation knowledge of IT so that students are able to design and develop various products within the IT world. By completing this course you will be able to gain access to studying level 3 IT.

What’s next?

Once you have applied for this course, you will be contacted by a member of the IT teahcing staff to arrange and interview to discuss the course. Once you have enrolled for the course you will study for a year with us. After completing your L2 course you will then have the opportunity to progress onto the L3 Extended Certificate in IT.
