This course is for people interested in working in the Motor Vehicle industry or gaining qualifications to support their current job.
You will learn the correct procedures for maintenance, repair and removal & refitting of components such as the engine, transmission, brakes, steering and electrical items.
You will need to have completed English and Maths to a grade 4. If you have not already gained these qualifications, you could enrol on thecourse and complete your English and Maths with us.
As well as learning the theory of motor vehicles in the classroom, you will also get the opportunitywork on vehicles in our workshop. You will be assessed through a combination of coursework and online tests.
English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/ or English at school, we will support you to improve your skills.
There is a requirement to complete 35 hours of motor trade related work experience.
Students are encouraged to seek their own work placement at a local dealership as part of this experience. This will help you gain great experience is seeking workplace interviews and broadening your life skills.
Mon-Fri between 9am-4pm. Days and times of study are subject to change. Timetables are confirmed at the start of term. There is a minimum attendance requirement of 95%.
The aim of this course is to equip you with the knowledge to gain employment in the motor industry. We have a high success rate for our students progressing into the field as apprentices.
You could progress to higher education or gain emploment in the motor vehicle industry, working as a mechanic or in a garage.
