What’s it all about?

This qualification is intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in a workshop, classroom or
other training environment other than assessing competence in a work environment.
There must be evidence to cover all of the assessment methods listed in the units.

No entry requirements however you need to be in the correct job role to undertake the course.

You will be taught using a range of teaching techniques including:
Blended Learning – a mixture of classroom and online support.
You will be assessed by:
Direct Observation in the workplace, gathering work products to showcase your competence and skills, demonstrating your knowledge through assignments and compiling a portfolio of evidence.

English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career.

It is not a requirement to have maths and English qualifications, but there is an expectation that you have a good level to ensure you can complete the assignments to a good standard. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/ or English at school, we can signpost you to support you to improve your skills.

There are no placement requirements, but you need to be in a job role where you can gather the evidence to demonstrate your competence.

We have several industry links and partnerships with to ensure you gain an outstanding learning experience with us and are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to progress to a career in industry.

You'll will:
• attend six, two-hour sessions.
• complete independent study of 41-hours
• be observed for one-hour, and
• Able to access to 1-1 support sessions.

There are no additional costs associated with this course.

Mondays 4pm-6pm

This qualification is for learners aged 19 and above.

This qualification is intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace (for example a workshop, classroom, or other training environment).

You will study a several modules when studying this course including:

Unit 01 Understanding the principles and practices of assessment (D/601/5313).
Unit 02 Assess occupational competence in the work environment (H/601/5314).
Unit 03 Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding 9F/601/5319)

NCFE

These qualifications provide the essential knowledge and understanding that assessment staff need and offer additional
units that describe competent practice. This approach gives flexibility and a greater potential to meet the needs of aspiring Assessors.
