This course is for those that are interested in working on light vehicles and is ideal if you would like to train for a career in the motor industry.
Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance or substantial experience in the motor vehicle industry.
|You will be required to purchase appropriate PPE.
Practical sessions are delivered in our industry standard garage workshop, based at our Ashington campus. You will be tested through practical assessments.
Assessments both in the classroom and in the garage are spaced throughout the academic year.
If you have not already gained a GCSE at grade 4 or above, or an SQA National 5 or above in Mathematics or English Language, you will be able to sit these with us.
These classes are taught over two days for the duration of the academic year.
You will be required to attend a minimum of 40 hours placement in a Motor Vehicle related industry.

Monday to Friday - timetables will be issued at enrolment.
The aim of this qualification is to further your Level 2 technical knowledge and abilities in areas such as inspecting light vehicles, the principals of diagnosis and rectification of driveline and ignition faults, as well as the diagnosis and rectification of automotive auxiliary electrical faults.
At the end of this qualification you will be a fully qualified light motor vehicles technician, allowing you to work towards a career in your dream job.
Teaching and assessment methods include theory-based sessions, which are classroom taught. These sessions are tested through online examinations.

On completion of this course, you could gain employment in the automotive repair and maintenance industry.
