Northumberland College students are celebrating receiving their results for the final time at Ashington Campus before teaching moves to a new site at Wansbeck Business Park this October.
Hundreds of students collected their technical qualification results from the current site on College Road, with many accepting offers from some of the country’s leading universities, progressing to higher level apprenticeships, or starting a new career.
Students on T Level programmes impressed as well with 100% achievement for T Levels in Animal, Engineering, Agriculture and Health.
100% of those students placed have achieved their first-choice university.
Individual achievements included T Level Health student Ebony Ryder-Lomas who will be heading to University of Sunderland to study Adult Nursing after receiving a Distinction.
Ebony believes the college helped her gain relevant work experience and the qualifications
She said: “I was so proud of myself when I opened my results – studying here made me get out of my comfort zone, make new friends and get the experience in the real working environment.”
Fellow student Kiera Lang received a Pass in T Level Childcare and Education and will be working at The Den Nursery by Tamsin’s Little Acorns after doing her placement there.
Kiera said: “I was so happy that I passed, I really enjoyed studying here and I positively benefitted from the way of teaching.”
Judith Quinn, Ashington Campus Principal, said: “Today’s excellent results reflect the hard work and dedication of our students, the support of their families and carers, and the commitment of our outstanding colleagues.”
The college’s specialist land-based campus at Kirkley Hall was also celebrating outstanding results, with high pass rates in Animal Management, Equine and Horticulture, with 85% of grades being merits or distinctions.
From October 2026, Northumberland College’s award-winning provision in Ashington will move to a new state of the art £52 million campus at Advance Northumberland’s Wansbeck Business Park.
Comprising three buildings the trailblazing development will offer study routes for 16-19-year-olds and adults, including apprenticeships, T Levels, vocational qualifications, Higher Education and full and part-time programmes which will revolutionise the education and skills landscape.
From Monday 17 August, Northumberland College will be enrolling 2026 school leavers for its wide range of T Levels and technical and vocational courses.
