Agricultural Apprentice Alice Bates, who studies at Northumberland College, is getting to experience modern agriculture and the working of a progressive farm, and the role of all the staff involved.
Farmer and apprenticeship employer James Drummond, at Lemmington Hill Head Farm, is following a sustainable farming program growing grass leys that store carbon and using grazing systems that reduce the use of raw materials and fuel when compared with traditional methods. He is working towards lower carbon emissions farming, as well as developing high tech breeding programs within his sheep flock to improve the genetics of the flock.

As a college; we work with a range of different employers so that they’re able to recruit new apprentice’s and attract new people into the industry, such as British farmers in their quest to improve modern farming techniques and engage young people in the world of farming.
