Aaron Willcocks, a Northumberland College automotive student, recently won a motor vehicle practical skills competition at New College Durham.
The competition took place in April 2019 and involved Level 2 full-time students from Northumberland College, New College Durham, East Durham College, Hartlepool College and Bishop Auckland College. Students had to demonstrate their practical skills in what was a close competition.
Aaron, a Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Repair Maintenance student, was presented with a trophy and a toolbox worth £300 at a ceremony at East Durham College for winning the competition.
Michael Jackson, Automotive Lecturer, said: “This is the first time Northumberland College has taken part in the competition and Aaron did the automotive department proud. We’re all so pleased for him!”
Aaron added: “The competition was a fantastic experience and is the first time I have ever won anything! Huge thanks to my lecturer Michael for the support throughout – I thoroughly enjoyed myself.”
