A student studying Entry to the Uniformed Public Services has progressed into a career with the Armed Forces.
Owen Mulgrew has utilised all the knowledge and skills he has gained over the past academic year and has successfully completed the Army’s recruitment process for recruit training. He will start his Infantry training at Catterick in September 2023.
The selection process was conducted over a two-day period, consisting of medical examinations, physical assessments, and five separate cognitive tests.
After the above selection process, a formal career discussion and interview was conducted based on performance over the stay.
Damian Holland, Programme Leader for Northumberland College’s Military Academy, said: “Owen has worked hard throughout the year and always sets a positive example for others. He thoroughly deserves this opportunity to maximise his potential.”
The college recognises and celebrates local students’ significant achievements and wanted to showcase that hard work does in fact pay off.
Owen, said: “Thank you to all those members of staff that believed in me and continually pushed me beyond my comfort zone.”
