Your competence will be assessed using a diverse range of methods. You will be expected to submit formal written responses and will also be supported to engage in presentations, research projects, individual and group activities and case studies.
GCSEs at grade 4/C or above in Maths and English, or equivalent, are required for this course.
If you are not currently employed within the childcare sector, you will be expected to engage in voluntary placement of a minimum of 70 hours across the year. This is a minimum requirement and it is further recognised that increased work-based experience, if possible, will further enhance your professional practice, knowledge and understanding and will also raise your employability.
Effective relationships are maintained with a wide range of professional agencies across the county to support currency and networking.
In addition to attending lectures, you will need to spend an extra 10-15 hours per week on independent study, which will include completing recommended reading, assessment preparation and conducting research for your dissertation.
