You will need 5 GCSE's at grade 4-9 including Maths, English and Science.

The course is made up of two components, both of which need to be successfully achieved to attain the technical qualification. These include:

- Core component - graded A*-E
- Livestock production occupational specialism - graded Pass, Merit and Distinction

Assessment is undertaken via a range of methods, including assignments, employer and external-based projects and exams.

The employer-set project ensures students have the opportunity to combine the core knowledge and skills to develop a substantial piece of work in response to an employer set brief.

Our T-Level courses combine classroom learning with hands-on industry experience, providing you with the skills and knowledge highly valued by employers. You'll spend 80% of your time on academic studies and 20% on a 45-day work placement, totalling over 315 hours of practical exposure. This balance ensures a comprehensive understanding of your field and enhances your professional skills.

You can arrange your own placement or use our student placement team's expertise. This mandatory component prepares you for real career challenges and opportunities as you transition from student to professional.

As part of this dynamic course, you'll delve into a wide array of modules designed to equip you with essential skills and knowledge for a successful career in agriculture.

Year 1 - Core Content

You'll develop a comprehensive understanding of key issues in the sector, including sustainability practices, environmental legislation, and waste management. Learn the principles of biosecurity, your employment rights, and the ethical considerations in agriculture. Explore the supply chain, stock management, business organisation, enterprise skills, and project management. The curriculum also covers essential topics such as equality legislation, effective communication, customer care, finance, health and safety, and information management.

Year 2 - Specialist Content

In the Livestock Production Pathway, you'll focus on practical, hands-on skills. You'll learn to establish optimal conditions for animal breeding, rear livestock to production standards, and optimise production processes. Additionally, you'll maintain the areas surrounding the livestock production environment, ensuring a holistic approach to animal husbandry.

These modules are meticulously designed to provide you with a robust foundation, preparing you for a thriving career in the agricultural sector.
