Our Foundation Learning programme is especially for young people with special educational needs and disabilities. We can offer a bespoke programme, delivered by specialist staff, to make sure you achieve your goals and fulfil your own unique potential. You will develop your English and Maths and personal, social and employability skills to help you progress. You can also get involved in fun enrichment opportunities to further develop your confidence and life skills.

Our facilities

You'll study this subject full-time at Kirkley Hall Campus and will have access to bespoke and highly specialised learning facilities and resources at Kirkley Hall, which create a safe and positive environment to engage and stimulate students, nurture their individual talents, skills and inspire them to reach their full potential. Our learning environments also ensure students are part of the wider college community, develop their independence as well as social and life skills.

Career ready

Our Foundation Learning programme is taught in real learning and working environments including at Kirkley Hall Zoological Gardens, in our commercial kitchens and restaurant and motor vehicle workshops. The Foundation Learning programme focuses on core topics for living an independent life including health and safety, travel training, healthy living, money management, employability skills, teamwork, communication, literacy and numeracy.
