Our Level 2 Veterinary Nursing course is a year-long program designed for individuals aged 17 and older. As part of the course, you’ll gain practical experience through a 60-hour placement with a veterinary practice, providing hands-on experience.
For those who are 16, we recommend pursuing an alternative year-long course, such as our equine or animal management programs, which will strengthen your skillset before further study in veterinary nursing.
The qualification is the formal route for those wishing to qualify as a veterinary nurse. Successful completion of this qualification will enable learners to complete their enrolment with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
To enrol in our Level 3 Veterinary Nursing course, you must secure a full-time job at a veterinary practice. Once employed, your workplace will be able to submit you for the necessary training. It’s important to be hired by a practice before applying, so please plan accordingly.
This pathway allows you to earn a full-time wage while working toward your qualification within just two years.
You'll study this subject full time at Kirkley Hall Campus and will have access to brand new veterinary centre with:
