Northumberland College will once again host its successful annual community event at its Ashington Campus which will bring together local people and showcase the best the town has to offer.
The event will be held on Saturday 29 June from 10am – 1pm with fun activities for all the family to enjoy, including interactive sessions by Racing Sims North East and performances by Mortal Fools and Control and Move.
Staff from the college will also be on hand for those who want to find out more about its wide range of of full-time, part-time and distance learning courses designed specifically for adults.
For those leaving school this summer, the college also offers vocational courses, T Levels and apprenticeships which offer the qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience for them to progress to employment or higher education.
Lee Lister, Campus Principal at Northumberland College said: “We are excited to host the second Family Fun Day at our Ashington campus, building on last year’s inaugural event. Connecting with the community of Ashington is both essential and rewarding for Northumberland College, its local college.
“Community cohesion is one aspect of a how a college can influence, shape and impact its community, and days like this are brilliant for bringing diverse groups of people together. We have dozens of community organisations, public services, employers and charities coming together on the day to celebrate all things ‘Ashington’, The college will be available to support young people and adults with their education options and also host the event.”
Racing Sims is dedicated to delivering authentic, exhilarating, and accessible racing simulation experience with a cutting-edge motion racing simulator.
Based in Northumberland, Mortal Fools is a multi-award-winning theatre, drama, and creative learning company based in Northumberland – working with children and young people using drama and creative interventions to support their wellbeing and personal development.
Control and Move is an acrobatics, circus, and dance school in offering physical classes and performance opportunities for both young people and adults.
Other vendors attending this community event include Koast Radio, Pumphreys, Wansbeck Valley Food bank, Betty’s Bakes & Cakes, Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service, Ashington Embroidery Services from a variety of sectors that range from beauty to public services, to charity.
