Floristry students at Northumberland College have created bouquets of vibrant flowers, bringing cheer to Northumberland residents.
The ‘Lonely Bouquet’ is a movement that was developed by Fleuropean, a small, organically run flower garden located in the Belgian countryside, and is dedicated to ‘spreading happiness and smiles, one flower at a time.’
The Level 2 Diploma and Certificate in Floristry students took flowers from the college’s Victorian walled garden and transformed them into wonderful floral displays, which were then left in public places for passers-by. Attached to the bouquets were Lonely Bouquet labels asking recipients to take the floral creations home and enjoy them as a gift from Northumberland College.
Meg Ellison, Floristry Lecturer, said: “All students made very creative designs and we received a number of thank you emails which brightened up the students’ day.”
