Northumberland College’s new Ashington Campus will revolutionise the education and skills landscape in the Northeast and beyond.
Supported by the Department for Education, the campus will offer state-of-the-art facilities aligned to industry priority areas.
Built on a 5.7-acre site at Wansbeck Business Park, the development will create an immersive industry experience for thousands of learners.
From the 2026-27 academic year, we will move our award-winning provision to the new Ashington Campus. Comprising three buildings, the site will include:
A centre of excellence for electrical, mechanical, robotics and automation, green transport, construction, housing, retrofit and wider renewable technologies.
The new campus will be built to a net-zero specification designed to enhance sustainability, optimise renewable technologies, meet the challenges of climate change and connect with nature with green spaces, rain and plant gardens supporting health, wellbeing, and the environment.
We will introduce a range of new apprenticeship and technical pathways into work or higher education, as well as launching a new Academic Career Academy.
The new Ashington Campus has been developed through a collaborative effort between Northumberland College (part of Education Partnership North East), Department for Education, Northumberland County Council and Advance Northumberland.
Supported by a wide range of employers, the campus will revolutionise skills education and skills.
