You can log absences easily online through Parent Portal, you should have received an email at the beginning of the academic year/when your child first enrolled with your login details and a guide detailing how to submit an absence. When you are logged into Parent Portal select your child > Information > Submit Absence and fill in the form.
A detailed step-by-step guide can be found here.
If you have received an absence text, it may be that your child is running late to their lesson. If you have spoken to your child, or are able to speak to them and know that they are in college, you can advise that they should speak to their tutor when they arrive, who will amend the absence mark to a late mark if they arrive during the lesson time. You do not need to log an absence for lateness.
All absences must be logged through the parent portal by a parent/guardian for students aged 16-18 or with our admin team, even if a tutor has been notified.
